Apparently, movie deals and a brand of vitamin water are not enough to clean up rapper 50 Cent’s tough guy image. A planned performance at a New York public school by the G-Unit head has parents scrambling to keep their children from attending.

50 Cent is scheduled to perform at PS 40, a New York school, on August 30 at an event dubbed “Family Day.”

While the concert was supposed to be a surprise, up to 10,000 people are expected to attend, according to a report in the New York Post.

Some parents of students who attend PS 40 are worried that not all of the concertgoers will be focused only on bobbing their heads to the hits.

"Someone's going to try to make a name for themselves," one unidentified potential attendee told The Post. "They're going to take a shot at him, and they're either going to hit him or they're going to miss him and hit some poor, innocent kid or grandmother."

15-year-old Mike Terrients also told the publication he would not be attending the show, due to the potential for danger.

"There's word out there that there's going to be some shootings," Terrients stated. "Some of my friends' parents are saying that they don't want them to go because something is going to happen."

As of press time, there are no plans to cancel the concert, despite concerns of crowd control by area officials.
